Title: Regulatory and Compliance Manager

Objective: The Senior Regulatory Analyst manages all product registrations and compliance within the Home and Garden consumer product industry. This responsibility encompasses pesticides, specialty fertilizers, soil amendments, seed, and soil/compost product categories. This role works closely with State Department of Agriculture contacts and is responsible for the registration, renewal, tonnage reporting, and ongoing compliance of Sunday’s portfolio of products nationwide.

As a senior contributor, this role is expected to work autonomously, providing expertise to product development teams and managing the full scope of Sunday product regulatory compliance.

Core Responsibilities:

This role is a function of the Research & Development department requiring cross-functional interaction with internal departments. Key departmental and cross-functional tasks include:

  • Strategize on new product development for product label content and label claims based on ingredients
  • Assist in research and analysis of new product formulation inputs for registration acceptance
  • Assist in the development and review of approved language for social media, website content, packaging, product description pages, and product labels
  • Assist customer service on regulatory-based questions from consumers 
  • Manage all aspects of the registration process (registrations, renewals, tonnage, mill assessments, inspections, label amendments, SDS generation)
  • Track label versions at state level
  • Communicate registration status updates

Functional Competencies:

This position requires proficient knowledge of Federal, State and industry regulations as it pertains to product category compliance. Including:

  • EPA FIFRA (40 CFR §156.10) labeling requirements 
  • EPA FIFRA Section 3 & Section 25(b) product regulations
  • State laws and regulations for product and license registration requirements
  • AAPFCO approved definitions and terms
  • Organic agency product listing requirements (OMRI, CDFA and/or WSDA)
  • HCS / GHS regulation for SDS management

Additional:

  • Highly detailed and organized with excellent time management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communicator
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to changes in the work environment
  • 6-8 years of experience minimum
  • BA or BS degree preferred
